Get certified to deliver Butterfly services.

We are opening a founding certification cohort for partners who want to provide Okta recovery, backup, restore, SSO/SCIM, Workflows recovery, managed resilience, and audit-evidence services with Butterfly's evidence-first delivery standard.

Program shape

Certification is earned with evidence, not attendance.

Training gets a partner started. Delivery certification requires exams, labs, artifacts, a supervised engagement, and ongoing quality checks. The goal is simple: customers should know who is allowed to touch their identity recovery process and what proof they will receive.

    Tell us your partner motion, target customers, operators, Okta/IAM experience, and whether you want referral, delivery, or managed-service authorization.

    Complete the relevant modules for recovery operations, implementation, SSO/SCIM, Workflows, restore drills, and evidence handoff.

    Prove

    Pass the knowledge check, complete sandbox labs, and submit artifacts that show the work actually happened.

    Supervise

    Complete one supervised customer or sandbox engagement before delivering Butterfly-branded services independently.

    Maintain

    Renew annually, keep certified personnel active, follow brand/security rules, and pass quality checks after customer deliveries.

Butterfly Certified Operator

Individual

For consultants who run backups, restore previews, readiness checks, audit exports, and evidence collection under an approved scope.

Proof: Knowledge exam plus sandbox backup, compare, restore-preview, and evidence-export lab.

Butterfly Certified Implementation Specialist

Individual

For implementers delivering backup setup, SSO/SCIM setup, Workflows recovery mapping, and restore-drill preparation.

Proof: Operator certification plus SSO/SCIM lab, customer change-control plan, and accepted implementation evidence.

Butterfly Certified Recovery Lead

Individual

For senior operators who lead restore drills, supervise delivery, review evidence packs, and coordinate escalation paths.

Proof: Supervised delivery, evidence-pack review, practical drill, and Butterfly reviewer interview.

Butterfly Certified Delivery Partner

Organization

For partner firms that can independently deliver approved Butterfly service packages with trained staff and security controls.

Proof: Two certified individuals, signed partner terms, security review, insurance where needed, and one accepted supervised engagement.

Butterfly Managed Resilience Partner

Organization

For MSPs/MSSPs bundling recurring reporting, monthly checks, quarterly restore drills, and customer escalation boundaries.

Proof: Delivery Partner status plus L1 support model, managed-customer authorization, reporting cadence, and offboarding process.

Capstone lab

Prove delivery in a replica Okta environment.

Training modules are the starting point. Certification requires a hands-on project in a non-production Okta tenant that mirrors the customer work partners will perform: backup, restore preview, SSO/SCIM validation, evidence capture, and handoff.

Replica Okta tenant

Seed a non-production Okta environment with customer-like users, groups, apps, admin boundaries, policy fixtures, and SCIM lifecycle cases. No customer data is allowed.

Butterfly implementation

Install Butterfly through the Okta Integration Network flow, configure SSO/SCIM where the track requires it, create the recovery schedule, and document access boundaries.

Recovery proof

Run a backup, compare the captured state, generate a restore preview or dry run, and explain exactly what would change before any mutation is approved.

Evidence pack

Submit timestamps, backup IDs, restore-preview IDs, screenshots, API responses, audit-log references, readiness notes, and a customer handoff summary.

Evidence review rubric

Passing requires an 85% score or better and zero critical failures. Butterfly reviewers validate the artifact trail before any partner receives delivery authority.

Automatic critical failures

  • !Missing backup, restore-preview, SSO, or SCIM evidence required by the selected track.
  • !Claiming Okta endorsement, reseller status, or Butterfly certification before written approval.

Delivery guardrails

Certified does not mean unchecked.

Butterfly-certified partners must stay inside written customer scope, produce evidence, and escalate when production risk appears. Certification can be suspended or revoked when the delivery standard breaks.

  • !Certification does not authorize unsupported claims about Okta partnership status or endorsement.
  • !Production access requires written customer authorization, named operators, and a defined access window.
  • !Restore execution requires written change approval; restore previews and dry runs are the default.
  • !Customer evidence must include backup proof, restore-preview or dry-run proof, audit logs, and handoff notes.
  • !Butterfly can suspend or revoke status for misrepresentation, customer data mishandling, unauthorized changes, or repeated quality failures.

Self-service intake

Start certification intake with a capstone-ready path.

Submit the partner, track, operators, and pilot context. No person is required to keep moving with the capstone lab, service catalog, and program requirements.

No-person path

Submit the form, then continue immediately with motion-specific assets. A person is not required for routing, first proof steps, docs, demo, trust artifacts, package review, or capstone prep.

This creates the routing record and unlocks the next self-service path. Contractual status changes — reseller status, certification badges, production access, discounts, or customer-change authority — still need written terms and evidence.

Founding cohort

Bring one pilot, certify the first operators.

The founding cohort is intentionally small: up to five partner organizations, two operators per organization, and one supervised Okta recovery or readiness pilot before directory listing or independent delivery.
